The Uniform Code for Pharmaceutical Marketing Practices, 2024 (“UCPMP Code”) was promulgated on March 12, 2024, by the Department of Pharmaceuticals (“DoP") which seeks compliance with its tenets from all pharmaceutical and medical device companies in India. In relation to the same, it has been provided that every chief executive officer of such companies shall submit a self-declaration, within two months of the end of every financial year, to the association where they are a member or directly to the UCPMP portal of the DoP if they are not a member of such a body, or a member of more than one such bodies. There was widespread confusion in the industry as the DoP had not provided any portal for submission of such self-declarations. However, now the DoP has published on its website that all the companies who are not a part of any association or part of more than one association shall submit the self-declaration required under the UCPMP Code to the following email address in the prescribed format: dop.ucpmp@gov.in
