Central / State Labour Laws updates

Karnataka Compulsory Gratuity Insurance Rules, 2024

Existing employers should obtain valid insurance policy within sixty days of the commencement of these Rules and new employers should obtain valid insurance policy within thirty days of the commencement of these Rules.

Every establishment should comply with the standards relating to physical environment, transport and information, and communication technology including guidelines on accessible and inclusive piped water supply for persons with disabilities and other population with access challenges and accessibility standards for community toilets in rural areas.

The Employees Provident Fund Organisation has issued a circular wherein Aadhar has been removed from the list of acceptable documents as a proof for date of birth.

Submission of Annual report under POSH Act in Gurugram 

The District Officer of Gurugram under POSH Act has directed all organizations to submit the Annual Report under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 for the calendar year 2023 by 30th April, 2024.

Companies (Listing of equity shares in permissible jurisdictions) Rules, 2024

These Rules will apply to unlisted public companies and listed public companies, so far as they are in accordance with SEBI regulations or directions, and which issues their securities for the purpose of listing on permitted stock exchanges in permissible jurisdictions.

Environment Laws updates

Notification regarding Ash Utilisation

Certain provisions of the earlier notification dated 31st December, 2021 on ash utilization has been amended to promote use of ash for eco-friendly purposes, including use of ash in ash-based products manufactured by micro and small enterprises engaged in ash-based product manufacturing.

The document on “Electricity Distribution Network Planning Criteria” has been prepared by the Central Electricity Authority to provide uniform framework and guidelines to distribution utilities/DISCOMs and to evolve an integrated approach for strengthening of Distribution System in the country.

This specification covers the design, engineering, manufacture, testing, and calibration of the work of manufacturer before its dispatch, packing, supply, and delivery of Class 1.0 accuracy, electronic Net energy meter, that is suitable for connection to LT single phase 2 wire, 240V system.

Introduction of provision in FoSCoS for filing Updated/Revised Annual Return
